FAQ

Can I transfer my warranty if I sell my vehicle?

Yes, the warranty can be transferred to a new private owner of the vehicle upon contacting the administrator and meeting the transfer requirements outlined in the policy.

What happens if my vehicle needs repairs that exceed the claim limit?

If repair costs exceed the claim limit, the warranty will cover up to the specified claim limit amount, and you will be responsible for any excess costs.

Are there any restrictions on where I can have my vehicle repaired?

Repairs must be carried out by approved repairers unless agreed otherwise by the administrator. Approval must be obtained before any repair work begins.

Does the warranty cover breakdowns outside of the UK?

Our warranty offers coverage for personal travel up to 60 days per annum to member countries of the European Union, with claims costs reimbursed in accordance with the equivalent UK component and labor costs.

Are the mileage/age restrictions at the point of purchase or repair request?

This is only when you purchase your vehicle. As long as your vehicle is under the specified age and mileage at the point of purchasing your Warranty, then you will be covered. When making a claim you may be required to provide proof of this.

Is there a waiting/cooling-off period before I can make a claim?

Yes, there is a 28-day waiting period from the start date of your policy during which claims cannot be made. This is to ensure that pre-existing conditions are not claimed under the warranty. If the vehicle undergoes a transfer of owners, a waiting period of 28 days applies.

Is there any excess payable on your warranty products?

No. We have zero excess on our warranty products to keep unplanned costs to a minimum for our customers.

Is your warranty insured? What's the difference between an insured and an uninsured warranty?

Yes, our warranties are all insurance products. Not all warranties are insured and you should check before making a purchase. An insured warranty gives you greater protection as the provider is regulated by the FCA, you can make complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service and are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme should we go out of business - with an uninsured product you would be left with no cover or compensation.

Does my vehicle need to have a full-service history?

We don't usually need to see a full-service history when you come to make a claim, however your vehicle must have had it's last scheduled service carried our if you need to make a claim. You should also follow the vehicle's manufacturer guidelines as a best practice.

Where are the claims team based? Is the claims team in the UK?

Our warranty claims are administered by Spectrum Insurance Services, who are based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. All our customer team are UK-based also with our headquarters in West Yorkshire.
